Addy Rodriguez
Program Manager, Pajaro Valley
From Michoacán, Mexico, Addy Rodriguez moved to Watsonville as a baby and grew up experiencing the town's tight-knit, culturally rich community. After time away for school and early career experiences, she chose to return to raise her own family there.
Addy oversees 18 school sites and 27 coaches across the Watsonville region. She holds a degree in human services from Fresno State and has extensive experience working with vulnerable populations across healthcare, homeless services, and foster care settings.
Before joining SCORES, Addy spent seven years as a residential counselor at Janus of Santa Cruz, helping mothers work toward reunification with their children. During the pandemic, she provided case management for homeless families living in shelters and later worked as a residential counselor at a group home serving adolescent girls in the foster system.
In her role as Program Manager, Addy supports coaches in creating meaningful connections with students. Her human services background helps her understand the complex family situations many SCORES participants navigate. "The connections we make with kids when we share similar experiences really make an impact," she notes.
As a single mother who relied on afterschool programs for her own children, Addy appreciates being able to support families who need those services most. She lives in Watsonville with her two children and enjoys running, journaling, and spending time with her mother and family.
