Consuelo Gomez
Program Coordinator in Watsonville
Consuelo Gomez grew up one of five kids in a tight-knit family in Watsonville, CA. “I grew up with soccer on TV 24/7, “ she says, adding that her brother and father were huge fans. Prior to joining SCORES in 2023, Consuelo studied early childhood education at Monterey Peninsula College and worked with children both in afterschool programs and as a nanny. After training to become a yoga instructor and earning a certificate in health coaching, she expanded her focus to women’s health, starting a small business to help women thrive both physically and emotionally.
Now she’s returned to her roots to serve as program coordinator for the newest SCORES program with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. “SCORES' values completely align with the work I’ve pursued,” she says. The new program serves roughly 600 students at six elementary schools.
In her free time, Consuelo loves to spend time in nature - especially the beach - and to journal. “It’s a beautiful way to measure growth or to see just how far you've come and how beautiful life's journey can be,” she says.
