Director of Volunteers, Event Operations & Outreach (Joined 2013)

Alicia Yanow is a lifelong lover of travel and soccer. Born in Australia, she’s since traveled extensively, exploring nearly 70 countries on six continents. Alicia's family moved to the US when she was five, settling in Southern California, where she began playing soccer in third grade. As a freshman in high school, thanks to Title 9, she joined her school’s first Varsity girl’s soccer team. Her passion for the Beautiful Game continues today through the Golden Gate Women’s Soccer League, where she plays and sits on the board of directors.

Alicia joined SCORES in 2013 as a volunteer for the Legacy Awards, bringing the organizational skills she’d honed as an events manager in the U.C. Berkeley Intercollegiate Athletic Department. That led to a regular position with SCORES, where she is now part of the development team and works with volunteers and on events. “Inevitably, something always goes wrong with a function as there are so many moving parts. The challenge I love is how to make the event seamless so the guests or participants don’t know anything is amiss.”

Alicia earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology (specializing in cultural anthropology) at U.C. Berkeley. She founded and currently operates Extraordinarily Organized, an event and organizational management business. In addition, Alicia coaches several girls’ soccer teams, is a regular platelet donor, and volunteers with Homeless Connect.
