Hamza Al Haidari

Hamza Al Haidari | SCORES Go Program Director (Joined 2017)

Hamza moved to California as a refugee from Baghdad, Iraq in 2008. He’s traveled to small towns across the United States and along the full stretch of the Camino de Santiago through Spain, Portugal, and France to share his story as a tool to combat fear and racism. Hamza has also been a keynote speaker at multiple immigration marches in California and the Multicultural Festival in San Diego. In 2016 and 2019, Hamza delivered talks at TEDxBaghdad and TEDxSantaCruz respectively.

Beyond his work with SCORES, Hamza is involved with Do/Love/Live, an organization dedicated to encouraging positive change through real-life story telling.

In his spare time, Hamza spends most of his time exploring the outdoors with his dog Hummus, and of course, playing soccer! He’s played for the last 25+ years and loves the game wholeheartedly.
