Colin Schmidt | CEO - America SCORES Bay Area Founder
Colin grew up crazy about soccer and figured out a way to weave the game into nearly every stage of his career path. Along the way, he realized soccer could be enjoyed more broadly in the US, and that within the game lay opportunities for creative expression, community building, and service. Colin’s driving goal is to create more opportunities for all kids in the Bay Area and to use engaged, enriched sport as a means to address persistent, yet preventable problems: illiteracy, poor health, and apathy. Colin has more than 20+ years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, operations, and management. He earned his BA from Claremont McKenna College and his MBA from UC Berkeley. The author of several books on coaching, Colin was awarded the “Premier National Diploma” from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
